When the Search for Alien Life Becomes a Spiritual Question
What if one of the greatest mysteries of the modern age is not simply whether humanity is alone in the universe—but whether some phenomena attributed to extraterrestrial visitors could have an entirely different explanation?
For decades, unidentified flying objects have fascinated scientists, military officials, intelligence agencies and millions of Americans. Yet as Washington continues investigating unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs), a provocative interpretation is attracting renewed attention: Could some encounters described as extraterrestrial actually involve spiritual beings?
That question resurfaced on October 13, when the New York Post published a report about a former NASA astronaut who reportedly suggested that UFO phenomena could have a demonic explanation.
The claim remains controversial and scientifically unverified. Nevertheless, it touches on a much larger debate concerning unexplained aerial phenomena, the limits of human knowledge and the biblical warnings about deception in the last days.
It is also a central subject explored by Pastor Paul Begley and I Iinvestigative journalist Troy Anderson” in Chapter 7, “The Alien Deception,” of our newly released #1 bestseller, Trump vs. the Beast: The Ten Kings Prophecy and the Bible’s Revelation of Coming Final Days (Humanix Books/Newsmax Media, October 6, 2026).
Our investigation raises a startling possibility discussed for decades among Christian prophecy researchers: What if a future revelation concerning extraterrestrial intelligence became part of a spiritual deception that challenged humanity’s understanding of its origins, identity and relationship with God?
We argue in Trump vs. the Beast that such questions demand more than fascination with extraordinary claims. They require careful investigation, biblical understanding and spiritual discernment.
Trump’s UFO Disclosure Directive: What Might Washington Reveal?
The renewed debate comes amid a significant shift in how the federal government approaches UFOs and unidentified anomalous phenomena.
On February 19, 2026, President Donald Trump announced that he was directing the Pentagon and other federal agencies to begin identifying and releasing government records concerning UFOs, UAPs and extraterrestrial life.
The announcement followed remarks by former President Barack Obama, who suggested that extraterrestrial life was statistically plausible before clarifying that he had encountered no evidence of alien visitors during his presidency.
Trump’s directive raised an extraordinary question: After decades of classified investigations, military encounters and allegations of secret programs, what might the American people eventually learn?
The national security establishment has investigated unusual aerial encounters for years. Congress has heard testimony from former military and intelligence personnel who have raised questions about unexplained objects, alleged recovered materials and purported classified programs.
Yet one distinction remains essential: An unidentified object is not, by definition, evidence of extraterrestrial life.
In its 2024 historical review, the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) reported finding no verifiable evidence that the federal government or private contractors possessed extraterrestrial technology or had secretly reverse-engineered alien spacecraft.
Investigators also determined that some historical sightings involved experimental aircraft and other technologies unfamiliar to observers.
These findings do not resolve every reported encounter. They do, however, underscore the importance of separating documented evidence from extraordinary allegations.
For Christians examining the prophetic implications, another question emerges.
What if humanity were someday presented with an explanation for its origins that directly challenged the biblical account of creation?
COULD UFOS BE PART OF A COMING GREAT DECEPTION? | In Chapter 7, “The Alien Deception,” of Trump vs. the Beast, Pastor Paul Begley and Troy Anderson investigate UFO mysteries, fallen angels, spiritual warfare, and the Bible’s warnings about deception in the last days—including questions about humanity’s origins and the biblical account of creation. The Alien Deception: A Prophetic Warning from Trump vs. the Beast
In Chapter 7 of Trump vs. the Beast, Begley and I investigate what some Christian prophecy researchers describe as the Great Deception—a possible end-times scenario in which extraordinary signs, supernatural manifestations or claims of advanced extraterrestrial intelligence could be used to mislead humanity.
Our investigation examines the biblical warnings in 2 Thessalonians 2 and Revelation 13 alongside modern developments in artificial intelligence, aerospace technology, government disclosure and the growing public fascination with nonhuman intelligence.
At the center of the chapter is a provocative question:
What if beings presented to humanity as extraterrestrial visitors were actually something else—perhaps fallen angels engaged in spiritual deception?
We explore the perspectives of prophecy researchers including S. Douglas Woodward, the late Bible teacher Chuck Missler and Christian commentator Paul McGuire, among others who have investigated the relationship between UFO reports, biblical prophecy and spiritual warfare.
Woodward, a former Oracle and Microsoft executive, raises the possibility that a future extraterrestrial disclosure could promote an alternative explanation for humanity’s creation.
Under this hypothetical scenario, people might be told that advanced beings engineered human life and were returning to guide civilization into a new evolutionary stage.
Such a narrative could challenge the foundational biblical teaching that human beings were created in the image of God, as detailed in the Book of Genesis.
For Christians, the implications would extend far beyond science or technology. They would touch upon creation, the Fall, redemption and the centrality of Jesus Christ.
Yet Begley and I do not argue that every unexplained light in the sky must be supernatural.
Our larger concern is the potential power of deception when extraordinary claims are presented as unquestionable truth.

What Does the Bible Say About Spiritual Deception?
Although Scripture does not explicitly identify UFOs as demonic spacecraft or predict a modern government announcement concerning extraterrestrial visitors, it repeatedly warns believers about spiritual deception.
In 2 Corinthians 11:14, the Apostle Paul warns that Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light.
In Matthew 24:4, Jesus begins His response to questions about the end of the age with a warning:
“Watch out that no one deceives you.”
And in 2 Thessalonians 2:9–11, Paul describes the coming of the lawless one amid deceptive signs and wonders, followed by a powerful delusion affecting those who reject the truth.
Revelation 13 likewise describes extraordinary signs used to deceive the inhabitants of the earth and consolidate authority around the Beast.
For Begley and I, these passages provide a prophetic framework for considering whether a future global deception might involve phenomena that appear supernatural, technologically inexplicable or even extraterrestrial.
Such an interpretation remains theological rather than an established explanation of UAP sightings.
Nevertheless, it raises an important question for believers: If an extraordinary event challenged the foundations of religious belief, would Christians possess the discernment to distinguish genuine evidence from a convincing deception?
As It Was in the Days of Noah
Another major theme in Chapter 7 concerns Jesus’ comparison between the period preceding His return and the days of Noah.
In Matthew 24:37, Jesus declares:
“As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.”
The immediate context emphasizes humanity’s unpreparedness for divine judgment. Some prophecy interpreters also connect the passage with Genesis 6, which describes the mysterious “sons of God,” the daughters of men and the Nephilim.
The identity of the “sons of God” remains debated among biblical scholars. Some understand them as fallen angels, while others interpret them as human lineages or ancient rulers.
Begley and I examine the fallen-angel interpretation and consider whether ancient accounts of supernatural beings might offer parallels to certain modern reports of extraterrestrial encounters.
Our investigation also explores the possibility that a future claim of extraterrestrial intervention could be used to explain away prophetic events, including the Rapture.
These scenarios remain speculative; the Bible does not explicitly establish that extraterrestrial disclosure will accompany or explain such events.
Our underlying warning, however, is clear: Christians should carefully evaluate any worldview that seeks to replace God as Creator or diminish the significance of Christ’s death and resurrection.

The Former NASA Astronaut’s Claim—and the Limits of Disclosure
The October 13 New York Post report illustrates an important development in the public discussion surrounding UFOs.
For years, the debate has largely focused on competing explanations involving extraterrestrial civilizations, secret military aircraft, foreign surveillance systems, atmospheric phenomena and misidentified objects.
Increasingly, however, spiritual and interdimensional interpretations are also entering the conversation.
The former astronaut’s reported belief that UFO phenomena may have a demonic explanation reflects this broader discussion.
But personal testimony, even from someone with extensive scientific or aerospace experience, does not independently establish the supernatural origin of an unexplained phenomenon.
The same standard applies to claims involving recovered alien spacecraft, interdimensional entities and secret government programs.
Some former officials and researchers have offered testimony supporting extraordinary theories. Others, including Pentagon investigators, have questioned whether the available evidence substantiates those claims.
For Prophecy Investigators, the essential question is not which sensational explanation should be accepted without scrutiny.
It is whether a society increasingly influenced by rapidly evolving technologies, extraordinary revelations and competing claims of hidden knowledge can retain the ability to distinguish truth from deception.
That concern lies at the heart of Trump vs. the Beast.
The Beast System: Could a Global Deception Change Everything?
The prophetic implications of the alien deception theory extend far beyond mysterious objects appearing in the sky.
In Trump vs. the Beast, Begley and I investigate the biblical prophecies concerning the Ten Kings, the Antichrist and the Beast system described in Daniel and Revelation.
Our research examines how emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, geopolitical realignments and potential systems of centralized control might intersect with competing interpretations of biblical prophecy.
Within that larger framework, the alien deception represents one hypothetical scenario through which humanity could be persuaded to embrace a radically different understanding of its origins and destiny.
Imagine the cultural and religious consequences if governments announced that advanced nonhuman beings had visited Earth—and those beings claimed responsibility for humanity’s creation.
Such an announcement could reshape debates concerning religion, science, philosophy, politics and the future of civilization.
But even an extraordinary official announcement would not automatically establish that biblical prophecy was being fulfilled or that an Antichrist system was emerging.
The truth of such claims would still require rigorous examination.
And for Christians, the deeper spiritual question would remain: Does the message align with Scripture, or does it seek to redirect humanity’s trust away from God?
This is why Begley and I emphasize biblical discernment over speculation and fear.

Watch the Signs. Test Everything. Hold Fast to the Truth.
As governments investigate unexplained aerial phenomena and public fascination with extraterrestrial life continues to grow, Christians face an important responsibility.
We must avoid both uncritical acceptance of sensational claims and the temptation to dismiss difficult questions without careful examination.
The Bible calls us to pursue truth, test spiritual claims and remain firmly grounded in Jesus Christ.
First John 4:1 urges us not to accept every spirit unquestioningly, but to test whether such claims are from God.
And Revelation 17:14 offers a powerful reminder that the ultimate victory belongs not to earthly rulers, mysterious intelligences or forces of darkness—but to Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Whatever future discoveries may reveal about unidentified aerial phenomena, the Christian hope does not depend upon government disclosure, secret technologies or predictions of extraordinary events.
It rests upon the person and promises of Jesus Christ.
For readers seeking a deeper investigation, Chapter 7 of Trump vs. the Beast, “The Alien Deception,” examines the intersection of UFO mysteries, government disclosure, biblical prophecy, spiritual warfare and the possibility of a future global deception.
The question is not simply what humanity may discover in the skies.
It is whether humanity will recognize the truth—and refuse to be deceived.
