As President Donald Trump completes his first year back in office, the results have confounded critics and forced a national recalibration.
According to government data and White House officials, the U.S. economy posted 4.3% GDP growth in the third quarter of 2025, representing a 79% increase in the growth rate compared to the final quarter of the previous administration. The trade deficit has reportedly been reduced by 60%, interest rates have dropped by a full percentage point, energy prices have declined, and financial markets surged to record highs—boosting retirement accounts and household balance sheets.

A Generation Awakening: Why Young Americans Are Returning to Church
While political and economic headlines dominate the news cycle, something even more consequential is unfolding beneath the surface.
According to a recent Barna study, for the first time in decades, Generation Z and Millennials are now the most regular churchgoers in America, surpassing older generations that once formed the backbone of church attendance.
Millennials and Generation Z Christians are attending church more frequently than before and much more often than are older generations, Barna found,. The typical Gen Z churchgoer now attends 1.9 weekends per month, while Millennial churchgoers average 1.8 times—a steady upward shift since the lows seen during the pandemic.
These are the highest rates of church attendance among young Christians since they first hit Barna’s tracking.
Daniel Copeland, Barna’s vice president of research, said, “We were able to analyze our data in a fresh way to show what many pastors feel—that even really regular churchgoers do not attend that often. Among all churched adults, we found that they attend, on average, 1.6 times per month, or roughly two out of every five weekends. This new analysis of the tracking data helps us better understand the frustrations pastors feel when they are trying to build momentum for their congregations, such as series-based preaching and mobilizing volunteers.”
“Even so, the fact that young people are showing up more frequently than before is not a typical trend,” Copeland explained. “It’s typically older adults who are the most loyal churchgoers. This data represents good news for church leaders and adds to the picture that spiritual renewal is shaping Gen Z and Millennials today.”
Father Gerald Murray, pastor of St. Joseph’s Church in New York, told Newsmax he is deeply encouraged by this shift—and offered a striking explanation.
“It’s the grace of God, of course, because He moves hearts and souls,” Murray said. “But then He has these instruments on earth, such as Charlie Kirk.”
Murray explained that Charlie Kirk’s shocking and heinous murder awakened many young people spiritually, forcing them to confront eternal questions they had long ignored:
How am I supposed to live? How am I supposed to treat my neighbor? What is the basis of our laws and customs in America?
Kirk, Murray noted, consistently reminded young Americans that the United States was founded on Christian principles—a society rooted in divine justice, moral responsibility, and respect for God’s law.
“As a priest, I can tell you,” Murray said, “the only peace of soul that you get is what comes from heaven. Everything else is a false trail.”
Across denominations—Catholic, evangelical, and charismatic alike—church leaders are now reporting dramatic increases in attendance, discipleship, and spiritual hunger, particularly among young adults searching for truth amid cultural confusion and moral collapse.

A New Year Prayer for 2026
Heavenly Father,
As we step into 2026, we come before You with humble hearts and awakened spirits. We acknowledge that You are sovereign over the nations, Lord of history, and the One who holds the future in Your hands.
We recognize that America is a shaken nation—but we declare that shaking is not the end of the story. Your Word tells us that when everything that can be shaken is shaken, what remains is what You have established. We ask You now to remove what is built on pride, deception, and compromise, and to strengthen what is rooted in truth, righteousness, and Your eternal purposes.
Lord, we thank You that revival is rising—not by human effort, not by political power, but by Your Spirit. We ask that You continue to awaken hearts across this land, especially among the next generation. Draw the prodigals home. Heal broken families. Restore reverence for Your Word. Rekindle first love in Your Church.
Raise up watchmen who will not sleep. Give us discernment to recognize the times, courage to speak truth, and compassion to stand firm without hatred or fear. Teach us to pray fervently, to walk humbly, and to love boldly.
We pray for our leaders—that You would grant them wisdom, restraint, and accountability before You. We ask that justice would be guided by righteousness, that policies would align with truth, and that Your purposes would prevail over every agenda not rooted in Your will.
Lord, protect this nation from deception. Expose what must be exposed. Heal what must be healed. And prepare Your people for what lies ahead—not with anxiety, but with faith, peace, and unshakable hope.
As we enter this new year, we declare:
Your Kingdom come.
Your will be done.
On earth as it is in heaven.
We commit 2026 into Your hands, trusting that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun.
