When I joined Pastor Dave Scarlett on His Glory’s “Take Five” broadcast to talk about my new book, Designated Disrupter: Trump and Other Unlikely Agents of Revival (Charisma House/FrontLine, January 6, 2026), I knew we weren’t just having another author interview. We were addressing a question that’s been burning in my spirit for years:

From Newsroom to Prophecy: How We Got Here
For over three decades, I’ve worked as a journalist—at the Los Angeles Daily News, as executive editor of Charisma magazine, and as an investigative reporter chasing stories about faith, politics, and power. Over the last decade, the Lord has led me to write a series of books that trace a single, urgent theme:
The Babylon Code – exposing globalism and the mystery of “Babylon” in Revelation.
Trumpocalypse and The Military Guide to Armageddon – warning about complacency and spiritual warfare in the last days.
The Trump Code – asking if America is facing a Nineveh-style “last chance” moment.
And now, Designated Disrupter – a book about how God is using the most unlikely people to help spark revival.
The seed for Designated Disrupter actually goes back to an interview I did in 2013 with Billy Graham for a seven-part WND.com series on the possibility of an end-times revival. He told me that when God sent Jonah to warn Nineveh of impending judgment, the king and the people repented—and God spared the nation. He believed the same thing could happen again, even in our time.
That conversation changed my life. It became the backbone of my books, my journalism, and ultimately this new message: We are living in our Nineveh moment.

A National Day of Repentance, a Great Eclipse, and a Question
In Trumpocalypse, Paul McGuire and I called for a national day of prayer and repentance. By a miracle of the Holy Spirit, “The Return” took place on the National Mall in September 2020. Around a quarter of a million people attended; some 42 million watched online. President Trump flew over in Marine One and issued a proclamation for a “Day of Prayer and Return”—the first time a president had done something like this since Abraham Lincoln.
Then, in 2024, we witnessed Great North American Eclipse that passed over multiple towns named Nineveh.

What Is a “Designated Disrupter”?
The phrase actually grew out of a conversation with Charisma’s COO, who referenced the TV show Designated Survivor. But in Scripture, this idea is everywhere.
Think of:
Moses, who didn’t want to lead and argued with God about his calling—yet God used him to confront Pharaoh and part the Red Sea.
Gideon, whose army was stripped down to 300 men so that God, not human strength, would get the glory.
The early disciples, accused in Acts of having “turned the world upside down.”
And of course, Jesus Himself, the ultimate “designated disrupter,” whose life, death, and resurrection shattered the spiritual status quo of the first-century world.
The point is simple but profound:
God is not looking for perfect resumes. He’s looking for obedient hearts.
A designated disrupter might be:
A mom praying over her kids and refusing to bow to fear.
A school teacher standing for truth in a hostile environment.
A business professional quietly sharing the Gospel with coworkers.
A college student refusing to compromise their faith.
If you belong to Jesus and you’re willing to say “yes,” you are a designated disrupter.

Trump, Globalism, and a Prophetic Clash of Systems
On His Glory, Pastor Dave asked the question many people ask:
How in the world did Donald Trump become such a central figure in this story?
Years ago, after The Babylon Code released, a pastor felt led to deliver a box of those books to the Trump team in early 2016. Not long after, Trump gave the now-famous speech declaring, “Americanism, not globalism, will be our credo.” The Babylon Code is an investigative expos of globalism. I don’t know for certain whether he ever read the book, but what I do know is this:
For years, my co-authors and I have documented the rise of an international deep state, secret societies, and powerful interests pushing for a one-world government system—the very thing the Apostle John warned about in Revelation.
Trump has functioned as a disrupter of that globalist system—exposing corruption, calling out the deep state, and interrupting a trajectory that could have pushed us much faster toward a totalitarian, anti-Christian order.
I’m convinced that without God’s intervention in recent years, we were on the verge of losing America as we know it.
A Surprising Revival Among the Young
Yet the story God is writing is not only political—it is profoundly spiritual.
Everywhere I look, I see signs of a rising revival, especially among young people:
Stadiums and arenas filling for worship gatherings.
Mass baptisms on beaches and in lakes.
Students boldly wearing Jesus apparel and sharing their faith.
Social media feeds filled with testimonies, worship clips, and Gospel content.
Last summer in Southern California, my wife and I attended a “Baptize America” event at Pirate’s Cove, where the Jesus Movement exploded in the late 1960s. The cliffs and beaches were packed as hundreds lined up to be baptized. When I interviewed a young woman waiting her turn, she said something that stuck with me:
“Everybody’s talking about Jesus. Everyone’s wearing Jesus clothes now.”
It felt like a modern echo of the original Jesus Movement—only this time with cameras, livestreams, and global reach.
I believe the Holy Spirit is drawing a generation that’s tired of fake, tired of plastic religion, and hungry for the real presence and power of God: miracles, signs, wonders, and authentic transformed lives.

Signs, Wonders, and a Wake-Up Call
On the broadcast, Pastor Dave shared testimonies of people getting out of wheelchairs, coming off oxygen, and even being raised from the dead after prayer. I shared my own family’s story.
During COVID, my wife nearly died after a severe battle with the virus and related complications. The doctors gave her a 50-50 chance of survival. Many of you in the His Glory Nation prayed for her. I believe God heard those prayers and spared her life.
COVID was not just a medical crisis; it was a spiritual wake-up call.
We saw:
Loss of freedoms.
Pastors being arrested.
Churches shuttered.
A test run of how quickly society can slide toward authoritarianism.
I believe that season shook millions of people out of complacency and opened their eyes to how fragile our freedoms truly are—and how desperately we need the Lord.
Near the Edge of Revelation—Yet Given a Reprieve
Based on years of research and writing, I’m convinced we came dangerously close to crossing a prophetic Rubicon—sliding irreversibly into a global system that looks very much like the beast empire described in Revelation.
I also believe God, in His mercy, has given us a window of reprieve.
My first co-author, Paul McGuire, shared a vision he received on July 4. He believed the Lord was saying America is being given “one last chance”—one more opportunity to turn back to Him, to keep this revival alive, and to resist the pull of darkness.
That’s why the message of Designated Disrupter is urgent:
This is not the time to relax, coast, or assume “we’ve won.”
This is the time to pray, fast, repent, and step into our assignments.

How Do We Respond? Becoming Designated Disrupters
When people ask me, “What can we do?” my answer is both simple and demanding:
Get right with God.
Repent, forgive others, and submit your life fully to Jesus.Put on the full armor of God.
Guard your mind, heart, and spirit. Saturate yourself in Scripture. Pray daily. Stay in fellowship with other believers.Share your testimony.
Your story—how Jesus saved you, healed you, or carried you through trials—is one of the most powerful evangelistic tools you have.Invite people to church.
Studies show that many people would go to church if someone simply invited them. Ask. Pray. Invite. Follow up.Stand where God has placed you.
In your home, school, business, or community, be willing to speak truth in love. You don’t have to be famous to be faithful.Refuse complacency.
Just as soldiers in combat can’t afford to relax, believers in this spiritual battle can’t either. Stay alert. Stay engaged. Stay obedient.
Why I Wrote Designated Disrupter
I wrote Designated Disrupter to encourage you that:
You are not powerless.
You are not invisible to God.
You are not disqualified by your past, your weaknesses, or your wounds.
From President Trump to Joe Rogan, from Jordan Peterson to unlikely pastors and unknown intercessors, God is using voices across the spectrum to stir curiosity, open doors, and point people toward truth. But in the end, revival doesn’t hinge on a handful of big names.
It hinges on millions of everyday believers saying, “Here am I, Lord. Send me.”
That’s what this book is about—how God is raising up a remnant of “misfit toys,” as Pastor Dave put it on the show… people the world never expected, but Heaven has marked as designated disrupters.
